Celebrate the Stories of Young Authors When Story Pirates Sail Into Town
Let Story Pirates take your child on a wild journey as acclaimed preformers act out stories written by local students! The Jefferson School is proud to host a family-friendly, fun-filled event Saturday, November 9, 2013, featuring the Story Pirates, a nationally recognized, comedy and creative writing organization. The event will be held at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center in Rehoboth, Delaware with doors opening at 2 p.m. and the show starting at 3 p.m.
Story Pirates will sing, dance, and improv their way through never-before-seen adventures written by our own local students! Performed alongside a few of their greatest hit stories, watch the Story Pirates celebrate the words and ideas of your student authors to create an unforgettable experience for children and adults alike.
Several well-known comedians and comedy writers, including Jon Stewart, John Oliver, and Kristen Schaal (The Daily Show) have collaborated with the Story Pirates and have taken part in their unique shows.
Story Pirates, which was originally founded in New York in 2003, is a nationally recognized, non-profit arts and literacy organization working to engage students by showing them that their ideas, their words, and their stories are important. Dually based in New York and Los Angeles, Story Pirates has grown to reach hundreds of thousands of children in more than 200 schools across the country.
